Multi Trader – Social Housing Disrepair & Planned Maintenance

About the Role

Wrightway Construction Limited is looking for experienced and proactive Multi Traders to join our team delivering works across the London area.

This is a self-employed position working predominantly within occupied social housing properties, carrying out disrepair works, planned maintenance and general property repairs.

We are looking for experienced operatives who are genuine all-rounders and take pride in completing jobs properly. You should be confident assessing the work required, completing multiple elements of a repair yourself and leaving the property to a professional standard.

Strong Multi trade experience and plastering skills are particularly important for this role.

Key Duties

Works will vary from property to property and may include:

• Plastering, patch plastering and larger making-good works
• Repairs following leaks, damp or other property defects
• Wall and floor tiling
• General carpentry and joinery repairs
• Basic plumbing and plumbing repairs
• Removing and replacing damaged finishes
• General property maintenance and repairs
• Making good following other trades
• Completing disrepair and planned maintenance work packages
• Identifying additional repairs or issues while on site
• Ensuring works are completed correctly and efficiently, minimising unnecessary return visits
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
• Providing a professional service when working in residents' homes

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Previous social housing experience
• Good plastering experience and capability
• Competency across multiple trades
• General carpentry skills
• Tiling skills
• Basic plumbing skills
• Experience working within occupied residential properties
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• A proactive approach to completing works
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Their own tools required to carry out multi-trade works
• A professional and respectful attitude towards residents

Vehicle Requirements

Having your own suitable van is preferable, as the role involves travelling between properties throughout the contract area.

However, we are willing to discuss vehicle options with the right candidates, so applicants without their own van should not be discouraged from applying.

Pay, Progression & Bonuses

The starting rate is approximately £200–£250 per day, depending on experience, capability and the range of works you are able to complete.

The Person We're Looking For

The right person will be a proactive, experienced social housing operative who can be given a schedule of works and trusted to get on with the job.

You should take ownership of your work, communicate when issues arise and focus on getting repairs completed correctly the first time.

Because much of the work takes place in residents' homes, professionalism is essential. You will be representing Wrightway Construction Limited and are expected to treat residents and their properties with respect at all times.
