Fine Art Technicians - (Heathrow Area)

We currently have a number of Fine Art Technician positions with our clients in the Heathrow area (West London). These roles cover safe handling, packing, transportation, installation, and storage of artworks, and call for exceptional professionalism, technical skill, discretion, and adherence to best practice throughout.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle, pack, and transport a wide range of artworks (paintings, sculptures, installations, and fragile objects) using approved methods and materials.
  • Assist with and execute on-site installations and de-installations at galleries, museums, private residences, art fairs, and similar venues.
  • Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently, applying correct lifting, securing, and protection techniques.
  • Conduct condition checks; record and escalate any discrepancies or damage promptly.
  • Produce and maintain accurate documentation, including condition reports, packing lists, and inventory records.
  • Liaise professionally with clients, conservators, registrars, couriers, and site teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment to agreed standards, reporting issues proactively.
  • Support warehouse operations, including artwork intake, inventory control, and storage management.
  • Travel within the UK and, when required, internationally for installations and exhibition build-outs.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Minimum three years’ experience in fine art handling, logistics, or a museum/gallery environment.
  • Strong, up-to-date knowledge of best practice in art packing, handling, and installation.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Outstanding attention to detail with practical problem-solving capability on site and in transit.
  • Clear, confident communication and client-facing interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility around working hours, with readiness to travel according to project schedules.
