Overview

The Bakers Arms is being reimagined as an exciting new destination restaurant in the heart of Leicestershire.

Under new ownership, we are creating a refined yet welcoming restaurant focused on exceptional food, outstanding wines, genuine hospitality and memorable guest experiences. Our aim is to combine the standards of fine dining with the warmth and character of a great country restaurant.

Guests can expect a carefully curated wine programme, seasonal tasting menus, classic hospitality and a service style that is professional, knowledgeable and genuinely welcoming.

We are now seeking passionate, professional and ambitious Chef de Rangs to join our opening front of house team.

The Role

As a Chef de Rang, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to guests throughout their dining experience. You will manage your own section, build rapport with guests, and work closely with management, bar and kitchen teams to ensure every detail is executed to the highest standard.

This is a hands-on role suited to individuals who genuinely enjoy hospitality and take pride in delivering attentive, knowledgeable and memorable guest experiences.

Whether you are an experienced Chef de Rang or looking to take the next step in your hospitality career, we offer genuine opportunities for development, training and progression.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver food and beverages to the highest standard
  • Confidently describe dishes, ingredients, wines and beverages, making thoughtful recommendations tailored to guest preferences
  • Provide knowledgeable menu guidance to guests
  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards
  • Work alongside the Sommelier to develop your wine knowledge and gain exposure to an ambitious wine programme featuring both classic and emerging producers
  • Assist with opening and closing duties
  • Handle guest queries and feedback professionally, ensuring every guest leaves with a positive impression
  • Ensure guest satisfaction throughout every stage of service
  • Support colleagues across the restaurant, recognising that exceptional hospitality is achieved through teamwork
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive team culture

What We're Looking For

  • Previous restaurant experience required; experience within fine dining, luxury hospitality or premium restaurants is highly desirable
  • A passion for food, wine and hospitality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A professional appearance and positive attitude
  • The ability to remain calm and organised in a busy environment
  • A desire to learn and develop within a quality-focused restaurant

Our Culture

At The Bakers Arms, we believe great hospitality comes from great people. We are building a supportive, professional team where respect, teamwork and genuine hospitality are valued as highly as technical skill.

We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, enjoy creating memorable experiences for guests, and want to contribute to a positive and ambitious team culture.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary plus monthly tronc
  • Staff meals provided whilst on duty
  • Structured wine and service training
  • Opportunities for career progression
  • Company pension scheme

  • Generous staff discounts
  • The opportunity to be part of an exciting new opening and help shape the culture of the business from day one

Salary
