Who we are:

At City College Plymouth you will be joining a college that is proud of its culture, where our core values of Respect, Ownership and Integrity are there to nurture and support a passion for teaching and learning, enriching our community through knowledge, experience and skills enabling every student to be the best they can be.

At City College Plymouth, one of the country’s largest providers of quality education and training, we are going through a period of transition to enable us to propel education into the future. We pride ourselves on delivering a learning environment and organisational culture that impact positively on the health, wellbeing and sustainability of our community and enables all our students and staff to achieve their full potential.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive and flexible Mobile Estates Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of multiple external sites, ensuring that each location meets our high standards. This role involves a variety of tasks, from conducting thorough security checks of the site to completing full lock-ups including alarm setting to carrying out general maintenance and repairs and a small amount of grounds maintenance. The Mobile Estates Assistant will also be responsible for performing compliance checks of fire systems to ensure all safety regulations are met.

What Will You Bring to the Role

Organising

  • Planning and organising skills required to manage workload with self-discipline.
  • The ability to structure and schedule activities in alignment with the College needs.
  • To be flexible to changing schedules and work environments.

Driving

  • The ability to focus on immediate and future targets and remain determined to achieve them.
  • To have the motivation to meet personal and organisational goals.
  • Must possess a valid driving licence and have the ability to travel between sites as required.

Adapting

  • The ability to be flexible and adapt to changing schedules and work environments.
  • Show resilience in handling a wide range of tasks and responsibilities.

Coping

  • The ability to cope well in pressurised, challenging situations.
  • To effectively manage setbacks and recover quickly.
  • To be able to maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure.

Benefits

City College Plymouth will offer you;

  • Holiday: 29 days plus bank holidays and College Closure over Christmas.
  • Career development opportunities.
  • Generous contributions towards your pension.
  • Free tea, coffee and lunch in our dedicated staff lounge.

How we recruit

We aim to recruit based on potential, not experience. We are interested in seeing your behaviours in action and how they will help you become successful at City College Plymouth, giving everyone the opportunity to show their potential, regardless of background or experience.

After completing our online application form, you will be asked to complete an online assessment within a few days of this Vacancy closing. This assessment asks you no questions at all. Instead, it observes your behaviour and natural strengths in action, with a series of engaging, intuitive tasks. You will receive a report outlining your behaviours once you have completed the assessment, regardless of whether you progress to the next stage or not, providing you with some feedback.

The College reserves the right to close this advertisement early if sufficient applications have been received.
