Full job description

Fire Plus Security is a growing independent business based in London and we’re now looking for a senior FIRE ALARM ENGINEER to join our Technical team on projects across London and the northern Home Counties. Our business works with a diverse range of clients – and with 85% of the work based within the M25 – this is a great opportunity for a professional, London-based Engineer to join our business on key projects.

As a BAFE accredited organisation we are looking for a Fire Alarm Engineer who is confident across the design, installation, commissioning and/or maintenance of Fire detection and fire alarms systems (addressable and conventional).

We’re looking for FIRE ALARM ENGINEERs who have experience:

  • Undertaking small works / installation / upgrades to existing systems as well as routine maintenance of installed systems
  • Responding to call outs for all fire alarms systems as well as testing / fault finding, inspection and repairs of Fire Alarms and associated equipment. (First time fix KPIs)
  • Working remotely, or as part of a dynamic install / service team.
  • Responding to technical queries from our valued clients.

You will also require:

  • At least 5 years’ experience working as a Fire Alarm Engineer.
  • Expertise with Kentec, Hochiki, EMS, IACO smoke alarms. Experience with Gent and Notifier highly desirable.
  • Comprehensive understanding of British Standards ( BS5839-1 ), BAFE / FIA requirements
  • Flexibility to join an On Call rota
  • Full UK Drivers Licence (Essential)
  • The right to work in the UK and undergo an Enhanced DBS check

Whilst we’re a business where Fire Safety and Security is our prerogative, our priority starts with our team and culture. One driven by more than a commercial agenda to ensure the safety and security of our clients and their people, but a moral imperative to conduct ourselves with this responsibility in mind.

Our growing reputation is founded on the quality of our relationships and the diligent work of our Engineers and we are looking for someone who aspires to contribute to our continued success.

In return for your commitment – and in addition to the expected tools of the trade – mobile, laptop, van, tools, uniform, expense card etc, we have an Employee Assistance Program that can support both you and your family, access to offers and discounts across a wide range of high street shops, monthly team socials and an annual People’s day – all on top of your anticipated 28 days holiday, NEST pension and Employee referral scheme etc.

Whether you’re an experienced Engineer looking to be part of a growing business with an emerging reputation or a ‘veteran’ of the Fire Safety & Security industry who’s keen for more consistency and stability to their work routine – we’d be keen to hear from you.

Apply now to be considered.
