Do you want to help make history in Herefordshire? Do you want to play a leading part in building up the Herefordshire local party and re-establishing the Lib Dems as the main challengers across the county?

The Herefordshire Liberal Democrats are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and self-motivated Campaigns Organiser to help us build the campaigning operation we need to win.

You will work closely with the local party Chair, the Elections Officer, the campaign team, councillors, and volunteers to turn our campaign plans into action. That will include organising voter-contact activity, recruiting and supporting volunteers, organising campaign literature, helping to coordinate delivery networks and ensuring campaign data is collected and used effectively.

We are looking for someone with exceptional communication and people skills who enjoys making things happen. You will be comfortable taking responsibility, juggling competing priorities and keeping campaigns moving, while creating a welcoming and positive environment for volunteers. You will be highly motivated to hit targets and proactively get various tasks and activities done.

This is an opportunity to take on substantial responsibility within a growing campaign operation, develop your campaigning and campaign management skills, and help build the organisation needed to elect more Lib Dems locally and to increase our general election vote, so that we once again can win Parliamentary elections in Herefordshire.

Job Description:

  • Deliver campaigning activity across Herefordshire target seats, including canvassing, action days, voter contact and literature delivery.
  • Lead, train and support volunteers, building confident teams able to run campaigning activity independently.
  • Grow and sustain the volunteer base, ensuring new volunteers are recruited, welcomed, matched to suitable tasks and kept engaged.
  • Building organisational capacity in Target Wards, including recruiting deliverers and poster sites.
  • Organising election material, assisting with the coordination and delivery of campaign literature.
  • Manage campaign data, ensuring accurate data entry, supporting volunteers doing data work and using data to inform targeting.
  • Carry out such other duties as your line manager may reasonably require to further effective campaigning, communication and organisation in the area, including appropriate administrative tasks.

Person Specification:

  • Experience in organising or managing volunteers.
  • Experience using Liberal Democrat campaigning systems or similar political databases.
