A highly regarded and growing residential management organisation is seeking a Head of Risk & Building Safety to establish and lead a robust second-line control function.

This is a high-impact, strategic role responsible for shaping governance, compliance, and building safety frameworks, ensuring the business is resilient, scalable, and aligned with an evolving regulatory landscape.

The Role

  • Establish and lead the organisation's risk, governance, and compliance function
  • Act as the internal authority on regulatory compliance and building safety
  • Provide oversight across Governance frameworks, Risk controls and reporting structures along with Audit trails, escalation procedures and compliance systems
  • Translate complex legislation into practical, business-ready processes
  • Deliver independant challenge to operational teams and direct corrective action where required
  • Ensure the business remains defensible under regulatory, legal, and tribunal scrutiny
  • Support governance across client entities (RMCs, RTMs, freeholders)
  • Provide board-level rfeporting, risk analysis, and strategic advice.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong experience in residential property, compliance, or building safety leadership
  • In depth knowledge of Building Safety Act 2022, Fire safety legislation, Leasehold/Property management framework
  • Proven ability to design or strengthen governance framworks
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders, legal teams and regulators
  • Confident in driving change and holding teams accountable
  • Excellent writtien and verbal communication skills (board-level reporting)
