A J Taylor Electrical has opportunities for enthusiastic Fire & Security Installation Technicians to become part of our growing team. The role requires an experienced, flexible, and highly motivated individual who can work under their own initiative and as part of a team.

As an Alarm Engineer you will be able to install a wide range of systems including conventional, wireless and addressable Alarm Systems. You should also be able to install Emergency Lighting, Access Control, and CCTV.

You should be knowledgeable about British standards in all fire safety areas and confident to make recommendations.
You should be able to work independently or as part of a team, possible with the ability to manage projects or an on-site team. You should be able to demonstrate experience in the field, with fire safety alarm system installation and repair experience including maintenance or testing. Basic computer skills are also required.
The ideal candidate will have complete manufacturers courses and have some BS5839 Qualifications.

Contractual Information

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 7.30am – 4:30pm with a 1 hour unpaid break for lunch

Salary: £35,000+ depending on experience.

You will receive 20 days of paid holiday plus all UK statutory Bank Holidays.

You will also be auto-enrolled onto the workplace pension scheme after successful completion on 3-month probation, which you can opt out of should you choose.

Experience

The candidate should have 5 years solid installation background and should:

• Be able to identify and rectify faults across all disciplines.
• Have experience in industrial, commercial, and domestic installations.
• Have comprehensive knowledge base of multiple manufacturers equipment.
• Have basic IT skills: Manufactures Software

Skills & Competencies Required (Technical & Practical Experience)

• Commercial, industrial and domestic installations of varying sizes
• Ability to install systems on all areas of fire & security to the relevant industry standards (BAFE and SSIAB)
• Experience working with the following systems:
• Hikvision
• Honeywell
• Paxton
• Scantronic
• Texecom
• Advance MX
• Morley
• Kentec

The ability to compile comprehensive installation documents will be essential in this role. An understanding of electronic devices (Laptop and tablet) will also be required for document completion and submission.

Essential Requirements

• Full UK Driving Licence
• ECS Card (This can be done by us in house)
• 2-5 years-experience in the Fire & Security industry
