We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service and ensuring the highest standards of safety for our clients. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Engineer to join our dedicated team.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fire alarm systems, particularly in line with BS 5839, and will be responsible for carrying out new installations, extensions, adaptations, and upgrades to existing installations, as well as performing regular service and inspections.

Our work primarily covers the south coast, ranging from minor tasks and day jobs to larger projects. The engineer should be proficient with both addressable and conventional fire alarm systems, especially those from Advanced Electronics and Kentec. Experience with GENT systems is not required, as we outsource that work to another contractor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and upgrade fire alarm systems in accordance with BS 5839 standards.
  • Conduct service, inspections, and repairs on existing fire alarm systems.
  • Carry out system extensions and modifications to meet evolving client needs.
  • Be on the on-call rota once or twice a week and likely 1 in every 4 or 5 weekends.
  • Ensure all work is completed to high standards and complies with safety regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients.
  • Complete all required documentation and reports accurately and in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Engineer or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of fire alarm systems and BS 5839 (specifically Parts 1, 2, and 6).
  • Relevant qualifications and certifications (e.g., FIA, NICEIC, ECS).
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: £14.00-£26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
