Full job description

Would you like to join us on a mission to tackle the housing crisis in the East of England? We're Flagship Group, a social housing provider with a big heart and a real passion for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion. Not only will you be part of something truly meaningful, but you'll also enjoy fair pay and some pretty great perks.

We're all about our people and our customers. We live and breathe our values - Great People Doing Great Things, Relentlessly Improving Performance, Spending Money Wisely, and delivering top-notch customer service.

Are you passionate about fire safety and eager to make a difference in the housing sector? Join Flagship Group as a Fire Safety Officer and play a crucial role in solving the housing crisis!

In this position, you will assist the Fire Safety Team in all compliance streams related to fire prevention and fire safety systems. Your efforts will ensure that Flagship Group remains compliant with all fire safety regulations, conducting the necessary checks and tests to maintain our systems in line with HSE regulations.

As a Fire Safety Officer, you will be responsible for carrying out weekly tests on all assigned fire detection and alarm systems according to British Standards. You will also conduct monthly emergency lighting tests (flash tests) and ensure that all information is accurately recorded. Additionally, you will perform low-level fire assessments in communal areas to assist the Fire Safety Supervisor in developing a comprehensive database for recording fire doors and their locations. Your role will also include signing off on remedial works to ensure all safety measures are up to standard.

Your skills and experience make you an ideal candidate for this role. You are self-motivated, organized, and capable of completing tasks effectively. Your communication skills, both verbal and written, are excellent, and you are proficient in using all Microsoft packages. You have a knack for organization, can work to deadlines, and manage competing priorities with ease. You are either qualified or working towards professional qualifications and hold a full valid UK driving license.

At Flagship Group, we are committed to your ongoing personal and professional development. Through our Learning Management System and collaboration with skill-specific suppliers, you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge of the social housing sector and enhance your customer service skills in line with our values.

If you are ready to take on this rewarding challenge and contribute to a safer living environment for our communities, apply now to become a Fire Safety Officer with Flagship Group. Your dedication and expertise will be instrumental in our mission to provide safe and compliant housing solutions.

In return for your hard work, we offer a competitive salary and a benefits package that includes:

  • Company Car
  • 25 days annual leave (increasing to 28 days with length of service), with the ability to buy and sell leave.
  • Access to the Flagship Rewards Scheme offering savings on groceries and VIP rewards
  • Death in Service Benefit
  • Company Sick Pay
  • An agile working environment to achieve a healthy work/life balance

and that’s not all! We’re also proud to offer;

  • Opportunities for development (including apprenticeships, our Academy, and various training options)
  • Health and well-being programs and initiatives
  • Empowerment (we give you the tools and systems to make the right decisions for resolving issues)
  • A Leadership Team that inspires, develops, and supports you

Closing date: 23rd September 2024. Confirmed interview dates: 2nd and 4th October 2024.
