What You’ll Be Doing

As a Fire Alarm Service & Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be responsible for keeping vital life safety systems operating safely, reliably, and in full compliance with British Standards.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Servicing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems (conventional and addressable)
  • Working on emergency lighting, nurse call systems, AOVs, and integrated life safety systems
  • Diagnosing faults quickly and delivering effective first-time fixes wherever possible
  • Carrying out remedial works and system repairs across a wide range of sites
  • Ensuring all systems meet BS5839 and manufacturer standards
  • Providing clear, confident communication to customers, including explaining system issues and false alarm causes
  • Participating in an out-of-hours on-call rota, providing essential emergency support when required
  • Managing your workload effectively to meet maintenance targets and client expectations

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for experienced engineers who are confident working independently and take ownership of their work in the field.

You’ll need:

  • Strong experience in fire alarm servicing, maintenance, and fault finding
  • Solid working knowledge of both conventional and addressable systems
  • Good understanding of BS5839 (essential)
  • Experience working with multiple manufacturers’ equipment
  • Ability to carry out effective diagnostics and repairs
  • Strong communication skills and a professional customer-facing approach
  • Experience working with integrated life safety systems (advantageous)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • FIA commissioning qualifications (or equivalent experience)
