The Woolacombe Fryer - Woolacombe, North Devon

About the role

We’re looking for friendly, reliable people to join the team at The Woolacombe Fryer, one of North Devon’s busiest fish and chip shops.

This is a busy takeaway role serving locals and visitors in Woolacombe. No experience is needed, as full training will be provided. What matters most is that you are reliable, friendly with customers and happy working as part of a team.

This role would suit someone looking for hospitality, takeaway, customer service, shop assistant, counter assistant, food service or front of house work.

What you’ll be doing

  • Serving customers and taking food orders
  • Packing and preparing takeaway orders
  • Using the till and handling payments
  • Helping with basic food preparation
  • Keeping the shop clean, tidy and organised
  • Supporting the team during busy lunch and evening shifts
  • Providing friendly customer service

What we’re looking for

Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, retail, cafés, restaurants, pubs, catering, food service or takeaway work is helpful, but not essential.

No experience? No problem. We can teach the job. We are mainly looking for reliable people who want to be part of a friendly, busy team.

Shifts available

We have both full-time and part-time roles available.

Part-time roles are usually 2-4 shifts per week.

Full-time roles are usually 5 days per week, with a mixture of daytime, evening shifts and full day shifts.

Typical shifts include:

Lunch shifts
Start around 11am, finishing around 3pm

Evening shifts
Start around 4:30pm, finishing around 9pm-10pm, depending on the season.

Weekend availability is important, especially during busy periods, bank holidays and school holidays.

Transport Help

We know evening transport from Woolacombe can be difficult.

Applicants will need to be able to get to Woolacombe for their shifts, but for evening shifts we may be able to help with a lift back to Mullacott, where there are better onward travel options.

Please let us know your transport situation when applying.
