Gym and Spa Duty Manager - 24 Hour Contract

As a Duty Manager at our client’s exclusive residential development at Bow Quarter, you will support the daily operations of the residents’ Health Club and Spa, comprising an exclusive resident gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi, studio, and premium wellness facilities.

You will be responsible for helping to maintain the highest standards of safety, service excellence, and resident engagement. Reporting directly to the Club Manager, you will support the smooth running of the gym, pool, spa, and wider wellness facilities, while coordinating day-to-day operations, resident experiences, and stock control. Your passion for leisure, strong leadership, and community-focused mindset will help create a vibrant social hub where residents feel welcomed, safe, and connected.

As an ambassador of our core values — Excellence, Accountability, Integrity, and Teamwork — you will support the delivery of a calendar of resident events, create personalised experiences, and uphold the luxury standards that define our brand.

This role offers a rare opportunity to help shape and mobilise a distinctive residential wellness space, where exceptional leisure facilities, genuine community spirit, and outstanding service come together.

Operations

  • Oversee all day-to-day Health Club operations, including opening/closing procedures and facility walk-throughs.

· Manage safety protocols across the gym and pool areas, including supervising and supporting the rota, enforcing facility rules, and overseeing water-quality testing.

  • Handle stock control: perform regular stock takes, receive deliveries, and reconcile invoices.

· Manage transactions through PDQ readers.

  • Coordinate bookings for classes and wellness events.

· Maintain the appearance and readiness of all public areas.

Customer Experience & Community Building

  • Support the delivery of a calendar of social and wellness events (e.g., sunset yoga, sound healing, boxing masterclasses) to foster community spirit.
  • Oversee enquiries and bookings for both daily use and special events, ensuring flawless execution.

· Provide onboarding induction tours and reorientation support for new and returning residents.

  • Gather resident feedback to continuously enhance the Health Club experience.

Health & Safety

· Conduct and document opening and closing safety checks, pool and spa water tests, and facility inspections in line with the required schedule. Full training will be provided.

· Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, including NPLQ and Pool Plant Operator standards where applicable.

  • Act as Emergency Responder/First Aider when required, responding swiftly to incidents.

· Report accidents, near misses, and defects to the Club Manager and Estate Management Team, and follow through on corrective actions.

Benefits

  • Career-development pathways with clear progression opportunities.
  • Access to ongoing training workshops, industry seminars, and wellness events.
  • Employee assistance programme and regular team-engagement initiatives.
  • Social events, charity involvement, and community volunteering opportunities.
  • Access to BUPA+ after 2 years service.

Skills and Experience

Must Have

  • Fitness Instructor Level 2 Qualification
  • SPERA (Swimming Pool Emergency Responder Award)/ NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification) or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Personal Trainer Level 3
  • Experience in luxury health clubs, hospitality or high-end residential amenities.
  • PPO Level 3 (Pool Plant Operator)
  • Event planning and coordination experience.
