Overview
We are seeking a skilled self employed Floor Layer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing various types of flooring in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring precision and craftsmanship. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of construction practices and be comfortable working with a variety of tools and materials.

Duties

• Prepare subfloor surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of flooring materials
• Measure, cut, and lay flooring such as LVT tiles, vinyl, or carpet according to schematics and project specifications
• Use hand tools and power tools to install or repair flooring efficiently and accurately
• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to execute precise installations
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment throughout the project lifecycle

Experience

• Proven experience in construction, particularly in flooring installation or related trades
• Proficiency in using hand tools including hammers, screwdrivers, and specialised flooring tools
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics effectively
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
• Good physical fitness to handle lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods

Pay: Up to £50,000.00 per year
