To carry out high-quality floor laying installations, replacements, and repairs within occupied social housing properties, communal areas, and assisted living facilities. • Preparation & Subfloor Work: Assess, prepare, and level subfloors using appropriate screeds, smoothing compounds, and ply-boarding prior to installation.
  • Responsive Repairs & Voids: Carry out patch repairs or full floor replacements in both tenanted properties (reactive maintenance) and empty properties (voids) to tight turnaround times.
  • Assisted Living Adaptations: Work closely with the adaptations team to install specialized slip-resistant flooring designed for elderly, disabled, or vulnerable residents.
  • Customer Care: Deliver excellent customer service, respecting residents' homes, minimizing disruption, and communicating clearly regarding work progress and drying times.
  • Health & Safety: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring strict adherence to COSHH regulations (adhesives, primers) and correct use of PPE.

Person Specification: Experience & QualificationsEssential Criteria:

  • Proven Experience: Demonstrable history as a professional Floor Layer, specifically within the social housing, local authority, or care/assisted living sectors.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in cutting, welding (hot and cold), and laying safety vinyl, with specific, hands-on experience in cove forming and capping.
  • Bathroom/Wet Room Specialist: Prior experience working on level-access showers and wet room flooring adaptations.
