The Role
Are you a commercially-minded professional with a passion for precision? The British Ironwork Centre is looking for a dynamic Senior Buyer to become a vital heartbeat within our international supply chain.
In this role, you’ll be the bridge between our creative product lines and our valued customers. Working hand-in-hand with our purchasing, warehouse, and sales teams, you’ll ensure our stock levels are perfectly harmonised with business demand. This is the perfect opportunity for an analytical, highly organised individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves turning data into results.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Mastering Inventory: Keeping a watchful eye on stock levels to ensure our most popular products are always ready for their new homes.
- Strategic Forecasting: Anticipating the future by planning stock requirements based on evolving sales trends and demand.
- Proactive Problem Solving: Identifying potential shortages or overstock before they happen and taking decisive action to keep things moving.
- Collaborative Replenishment: Managing and mentoring the purchasing team to ensure seamless ordering and stock replenishment.
- Data-Driven Insight: Analysing complex sales and stock data to guide smart, impactful business decisions.
- Dynamic Allocation: Managing the flow of stock across various locations to ensure it’s always exactly where it needs to be.
- Supporting Growth: Playing a key role in the success of new product launches, exciting promotions, and seasonal demand planning.
- System Integrity: Maintaining flawless records within our internal systems and spreadsheets to keep the business running like clockwork.
- Building Relationships: Liaising with suppliers and internal departments to guarantee timely and efficient deliveries.
- Operational Excellence: Handling essential planning and administrative tasks to support a high-performing department.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven Track Record: Solid experience in stock control, planning, or a similar high-responsibility role.
- Tech Savvy: Familiarity with order management systems (this is a big plus!).
- Sharp Eyesight: An exceptional attention to detail and a naturally analytical mindset.
- Organisational Flair: The ability to juggle multiple priorities with ease while staying focused on the finish line.
- Data Confidence: You feel right at home working with numbers and complex spreadsheets.
- Team Spirit: Excellent communication skills and a natural ability to collaborate across different departments.
- A "Can-Do" Attitude: A proactive, solution-oriented approach to every challenge you meet.
What’s In It For You?
- Fuel Your Day: Enjoy discounted or free food and drinks at our wonderful on-site facilities.
- Generous Perks: Take advantage of a great employee discount and store-wide savings.
- Stress-Free Commute: Free on-site parking every day.
- Growth & Culture: Work within a vibrant, inspiring environment with genuine opportunities to progress your career.
