Hours: 37.5hrs (Monday - Friday)

Salary: £28,860

Location:  Hybrid (Hounslow area travel will be required )

Job purpose:

As a Health Adviser , you will have good knowledge and expertise around healthy eating and experience in delivering educational food classes. As well as knowledge of health and social care services in the area, develop and enhance links with the VCSE sector, and keen to take on a new challenge.

MoreLife UK, commissioned by the London Borough of Hounslow, supports a borough-wide Integrated Health & Wellbeing Service. This Alliance unites expert providers to deliver collaborative, prevention-focused strategies that reduce health inequalities and benefit those in greatest need. Success is measured collectively, fostering shared responsibility, innovation, and efficiency.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support people to make long‑term healthy lifestyle changes around food, activity, and wellbeing.
  • Deliver fun and engaging group sessions, workshops, and 1:1 wellbeing support.
  • Help clients set SMART goals and guide them through personalised one‑to‑one sessions.
  • Lead practical, educational healthy cooking sessions for groups.
  • Provide compassionate, person‑centred support that is inclusive and culturally aware.
  • Create tailored health and nutrition action plans with ongoing follow‑up.
  • Use proven behaviour‑change techniques and motivational interviewing to inspire progress.
  • Carry out holistic wellbeing assessments to understand needs and barriers.
  • Connect clients with relevant services such as mental health, stop smoking, and activity programmes.
  • Build strong links with community groups through outreach, events, and local engagement.

About You:

We’re looking for someone who is genuinely person‑centred, empathetic, and enthusiastic about improving people’s lives. You’ll be dedicated to reducing health inequalities by helping individuals explore and overcome the complex factors affecting their wellbeing, empowering them to take greater control of their health. You will deliver a consistently high standard of care, bring excellent people skills, and show real motivation in everything you do. As a key member of the team, you’ll collaborate effectively, contribute positively, and play an active role in supporting our clients and our service.

Qualifications:

  • Qualification in public health, health promotion, health improvement, health science, health psychology, dietetics, nutrition, or an equivalent academic or professional qualification as appropriate.

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Experience of delivering health improvement services to targeted groups, and a proven track record in helping clients to achieve their personalised health plans.
  • Experience of day-to-day service delivery in the community, working closely with partners
