Full job description

Simple Recruitment are looking for reliable and hardworking Production Operatives for immediate starts on a temporary to permanent basis, working with our client across two sites on the outskirts of Paulton and Chilcompton.

We are currently recruiting for both day and night shifts, offering the opportunity to secure a permanent position.

If you’re looking for a hands-on production role, enjoy being part of a busy team and are comfortable working to targets, we’d love to hear from you!

The Job:

We are looking for reliable and hardworking Production Operatives to join a busy production and manufacturing environment, working with dried food goods (including chutneys at points).

This is an immediate-start, temporary-to-permanent opportunity involving a variety of repetitive production, processing and packing tasks.

We have opportunities available across both day and night shifts, so whether you prefer a traditional daytime role or working nights, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll need to be comfortable working at a steady pace, following set processes and maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy throughout your shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working within a busy production environment
  • Packing and preparing dried goods for dispatch
  • Filling, weighing, sealing and labelling products
  • Checking products for quality and accuracy
  • Operating basic production and packing equipment
  • Keeping your production and work area clean, organised and tidy
  • Following all health & safety and food hygiene procedures
  • Working as part of a busy production team to meet daily targets
  • Completing repetitive production tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Reporting any issues with products, equipment or packaging

About the Production Environment:

This is a busy industrial production and packing environment, so candidates should be aware that:

  • The work can be repetitive, with periods of carrying out the same task for extended periods
  • Working with dried goods can create a dusty environment
  • The workplace can be noisy at times due to machinery and production equipment
  • You will be on your feet for most of the shift
  • The role can be physically active and requires a good level of concentration
  • You may be required to work across both Paulton and Emborough sites
  • NO JEWELLERY IS PERMITTED
  • PPE and appropriate workplace controls will be provided

The Ideal Candidate:

You don’t necessarily need previous production or manufacturing experience, but you will need to be:

  • Reliable and punctual
  • Available for an immediate start
  • Comfortable working in a repetitive production environment
  • Happy working around dust and machinery noise
  • Physically capable of being on your feet throughout the shift
  • Able to follow instructions and work to set production procedures
  • Quality-focused, with good attention to detail
  • Comfortable working to production targets
  • A positive and supportive team player

Previous experience in food production, packing, manufacturing or warehouse environments would be an advantage, but full training can be provided.

Important Information:

Due to the nature of the production environment, you may be exposed to nuts and gluten.

Please consider this when applying if you have a nut or gluten allergy.

Location:

We are working with them across two sites - one based in the outskirts of Chilcompton and one in the outskirts of Paulton.

There are exciting opportunities in both sites available.

A driving licence and reliable transport is required due to the location of the roles.

Salary:

Day Shift: £12.71 per hour

Night Shift: £15.25 per hour

Hours:

Day Shift: Monday to Thursday - 6.30am to 5.30pm

Night Shift: Monday to Thursday - 6.00pm to 6.00am
