Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Food Runner to join our dynamic hospitality team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest service by efficiently serving food and beverages, ensuring timely delivery from the kitchen to the dining area. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within the hospitality industry, working in a fast-paced environment that values professionalism and teamwork. A background in hospitality, food preparation, or restaurant service is highly desirable. The Food Runner will play a vital part in creating a memorable dining experience for our guests through attentive service and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collect prepared dishes from the kitchen and deliver them promptly to guests' tables, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are maintained.
  • Assist with setting up tables and ensuring cleanliness in the dining area before and after service.
  • Support servers by refilling drinks, delivering additional condiments, and attending to guest requests efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team to coordinate timely service delivery.
  • Handle guest inquiries politely using proper phone etiquette when necessary, providing excellent guest services throughout their visit.
  • Assist with basic food preparation or meal assembly as required, supporting the culinary team when needed.
  • Uphold health and safety regulations, including proper handling of food items and maintaining cleanliness standards.

Skills

  • Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant service, or food delivery is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of food safety procedures and hygiene standards.
  • Excellent communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanour.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with food preparation or culinary tasks is beneficial but not essential.
  • Familiarity with meal presentation and serving techniques.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high standards of guest service.
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen operations, cooking, or hotel experience can be an added advantage.
