About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Band Saw Operator to join our busy meat processing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating industrial band saws to accurately cut and portion meat products to customer and production specifications while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and workplace safety.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in meat processing, butchery, or food manufacturing who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate industrial band saw equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Cut, portion, and prepare meat products to specification.
  • Follow production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Ensure product quality, consistency, and presentation standards are maintained.
  • Conduct routine equipment checks and report any faults or maintenance requirements.
  • Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Minimise product waste and maximise yield.
  • Accurately complete production records and documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with production, quality, and warehouse teams.

Skills & ExperienceEssential

  • Previous experience operating a band saw in a meat processing, butchery, or food production environment.
  • Good knife handling and meat-cutting knowledge.
  • Understanding of food hygiene and health & safety requirements.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a chilled environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Food Safety Level 2 qualification.
  • Experience working within BRCGS, HACCP, or similar food manufacturing standards.
  • Knowledge of various meat cuts and portioning specifications.
  • Counterbalance or Reach Truck licence.
