Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Care Home Cook to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, delicious meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents. Duties

  • Plan and prepare balanced, appetizing meals tailored to residents’ dietary requirements and preferences
  • Ensure all food is cooked to high standards of quality, taste, and presentation
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen in accordance with food safety regulations
  • Manage food inventory, order supplies as needed, and minimize waste
  • Serve meals efficiently and courteously, ensuring residents are comfortable and satisfied
  • Follow all health and safety protocols during food preparation and service
  • Collaborate with care staff to accommodate special diets or nutritional plans

Experience

  • Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
  • Previous experience working in a care home, healthcare facility, or restaurant setting is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with meal planning, portion control, and dietary restrictions
  • Strong skills in food presentation and serving techniques
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
