We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join our team at the best independent foodie pub in Salisbury (in our humble opinion!) which is located in the city centre, serving tourists and locals with delicious freshly cooked food, craft beers and wines and with a smile that is always bigger than the one you'll get in other places in Salisbury ...

A passion for food and for enjoying life is essential .. we need someone with a big personality

The wages is an annualised OTE total based on 45 hours per week but we are flexible to pay an hourly rate for less hours to suit you

The role is very hands on being part of the team looking after customers but you will also need to be able to manage the team and get involved in the finances as well as the development of the offer. We therefore need someone who is confident to lead, wants to be involved and who is able to think outside the box with creative ideas.

An passion for excellent service and an understanding of freshly prepared food is crucial.

We will provide full training in any area where together we identify an opportunity to expand your skills and the role so this would suit an individual looking for their next step up the ladder or someone with previous management experience

You'll get 25% off food and drink for you and up to 5 friends when you use the pub as a customer as we really want you to appreciate the quality form the other side of the bar as well

Most shifts are straight shifts and we open at 11am and close by around 11pm. Weekend availability is important as thats our busiest time and the best time to make tips

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the bar and waiting staff, ensuring exceptional service and guest satisfaction.
  • Constant communication with the kitchen team and directing the front of house staff on shift
  • Train and mentor team members on food safety, serving techniques, and hospitality standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and dining areas, promoting a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Development of and responsibility for running promotional ideas and events

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role
  • Strong serving and guest service skills
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
  • Excellent time management abilities to ensure efficient service
  • A background in hospitality is preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £31,500.00-£36,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Salisbury, Wiltshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
