A leading independent sports turf consultancy is recruiting at two levels as it continues to grow its work across professional football, rugby and elite sporting environments.

We are looking for:

Sports Turf Analyst - £25,000-£35,000
For someone with practical sports turf maintenance experience who wants to move into specialist pitch testing, data analysis, assessment and technical reporting.

Sports Turf Consultant - £40,000-£50,000
For an experienced football pitch professional ready to provide agronomic advice, manage pitch renovation and reconstruction projects, work directly with clients and take greater responsibility for project delivery.
Both positions offer the opportunity to work across natural and hybrid sports surfaces, using practical turf knowledge alongside specialist testing, data and consultancy to help clients achieve consistently high-performing pitches.

The roles
You will work across a varied portfolio of professional sports venues and projects, assessing the safety, performance and agronomic condition of playing surfaces.

Depending on your level of experience, your work could range from collecting and analysing pitch performance data through to providing technical consultancy, managing improvement projects and advising clients on the long-term performance of their surfaces.

The roles combine remote working with regular site visits and travel throughout the UK, with opportunities for international work.

What you'll be doing

Assessing natural and hybrid sports pitches
Collecting data relating to surface safety, performance and agronomic condition
Using specialist testing equipment on professional playing surfaces
Reviewing and interpreting pitch performance data
Carrying out on-site and remote turf assessments
Producing clear technical reports and recommendations
Working closely with sports turf consultants, grounds teams and clients
Supporting high professional standards across football and rugby environments
Travelling to client sites throughout the UK and internationally

At Consultant level, you will also:

Provide specialist sports turf and agronomic advice
Manage pitch renovation and reconstruction projects
Work with contractors to ensure projects are delivered to the required standard
Provide tailored recommendations to clients
Manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
Build strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
Identify opportunities to develop existing and new business

Sports Turf Analyst - what we're looking for
The Analyst position would suit someone who has built a good practical foundation in sports turf and wants to develop specialist skills in pitch performance, testing and analysis.

You should have:

Level 2 Sports Turf Maintenance qualification or relevant equivalent
At least two years' experience maintaining football pitches
Good practical understanding of sports turf maintenance
Strong attention to detail
Confidence working with data and producing reports
Reliable, enthusiastic and motivated approach
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to travel internationally
Full clean UK driving licence
Valid passport
Eligibility to live and work in the UK

You will work alongside experienced consultants and develop your knowledge of specialist testing, data interpretation and professional sports turf consultancy.

Sports Turf Consultant - what we're looking for
The Consultant position is aimed at an experienced sports turf professional who is ready to take greater ownership of technical projects and client relationships.

You should have:

Proven experience in sports turf management, ideally within professional football
Strong knowledge of agronomy and pitch care techniques
Experience of pitch maintenance, renovation and reconstruction
Recognised industry qualification such as Level 3 Sports Turf, BASIS or equivalent
Strong report-writing and communication skills
Ability to manage several projects and work to demanding deadlines
Confidence using relevant software and digital tools
Full UK driving licence
Willingness to travel extensively

Experience working with high-end clients, leading teams, managing large-scale turf projects or working with the latest turf management technologies would be advantageous.
