JoStudy Young Learners is an international education provider specialising in short-term academic and cultural programs for junior students.

JoStudy Young Learners runs seasonal camps in some of the most exciting and educationally rich destinations, including the United Kingdom, United States, United Arab Emirates and Thailand. Each programme combines classroom-based learning with carefully curated excursions, cultural visits, and activities that help students build confidence, improve their English, and make lifelong memories.

JOB OVERVIEW

Activity leaders play a crucial role in promoting a successful social programme by offering instruction, guidance, and coaching to students. They ensure that all activities are conducted in a proactive and engaging manner, fostering a safe, secure, and inclusive environment.

Activity leader works up to 6 days a week with 1 day off.

Due to the job nature, working hours may vary, depending on the number of groups arrive. On average, it is 44 hours per week.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing onsite activities

· Manage and instruct the students during onsite activities which enable the development of students’ soft skills.

· High willingness to engage and interact with the students and their group leaders while on duties.

  • Managing offsite excursions

o Study the itineraries and routes for each excursion prior to the departure.

o Be a tour guide by leading a group of 15 to 20 students based on the itineraries.

o Manage and instruct the students during excursions to ensure everything is operating to the highest standard related to Health, Safety and Safeguarding policy.

o High willingness to engage and interact with the students and their group leaders while on duties.

  • Morning or Night Duties

o To carry out residential supervision duties, including meal and bedtime supervision as requested by the Centre Manager (Where applicable) – one day only.

  • Specific duties include:

o To lead, supervise, motivate & engage students on activities and trips.

o To maintain levels of student discipline, safety, and welfare.

o Attend online staff orientation and in-person induction on campus.

o Engage with the students in conversations which encourage them to practise their English.

o To assist in day-to-day general duties as instructed by the senior management, including airport pickup duties.

o To work in a way that promotes the safety and well-being of children and young people.

o To complete ‘prep time’ in accordance with the requirements outlined by line managers to benefit the delivery of the activity and excursion programme.

o To help manage and maintain activity materials, which will include lifting of equipment.

o Liaise with the students’ group leaders and report any concerns to the centre manager.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Education and/or Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in any subject areas.
  • Previous experience working with children or teenagers aged between 10 to 17 years old.

Language Skills

  • A C1/C2 proficiency in English is a must.
  • Ability to speak other languages is desirable.

Personal Qualities

  • Ability to lead a variety of fun and engaging activities for a group of students.
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Ability to motivate and be highly enthusiastic.
  • Enjoy working with large group of students.
  • Ability to adapt and work with people from different cultural background.
  • Ability to be flexible in a changing environment.

  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • Possessed Criminal Records Enhanced DBS Check.
  • Undertake training in Safeguarding for Child Protection Level 1.
