Join Our Team as Sales Consultant (Holiday Travel)

Head Office – Rotherham (S60 2XR)

We’ve been taking people on dream holidays for more than 40 years, and now we’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic sales colleagues to join our contact centre team and help us do it even better. If you love talking about travel, enjoy making people happy, and want to earn a great salary doing it, you might be just who we’re looking for!

What You’ll Get

  • A clear, generous pay package: You’ll start with a salary of £26,000 which rises to £28,000 as soon as you successfully complete your probationary period. You'll also have a realistic and uncapped bonus scheme. Top performers can earn £34,000 a year or more once you are fully trained. We believe salary transparency matters.
  • Work–life balance: You’ll work an average of 37.5 hours a week on a rota (Mon–Fri 9 am–8 pm, Sat 9 am–5 pm, Sun 10 am–4 pm) with published schedules so you can plan ahead.
  • Room to grow: Training is part of the deal – because learning and development help people stay and thrive. We’ll show you the ropes and help you progress with our LSG Scholarship programme.

Fantastic benefits:

  • 22 days’ annual leave (plus bank holidays) rising to 25 days, plus your birthday and Christmas Eve off, and the option to buy up to 5 extra days off.
  • Up to £1,590 for you and a partner to enjoy your own Leger Shearings Group holiday every year, and we’ll even give you paid time off to take it!
  • Opportunities for hybrid working once initial training, competency, and performance criteria have been met.
  • Friends & family discounts, free parking, free eye tests, and contributions towards glasses.
  • A friendly team with regular social events and wellbeing initiatives.

What You’ll Do

  • Chat with customers and match them to the perfect getaway from our huge range of coach, rail and river holidays – NO COLD CALLS!
  • Take inbound and outbound calls from people who have already shown interest or are loyal customers.
  • Use your listening skills to understand needs, suggest the right trip, and achieve personal and team targets.
  • Keep on top of destination knowledge and travel updates so customers get accurate info.
  • Record details in our systems and follow up promptly to provide a smooth, enjoyable experience.
  • Work closely with the team to deliver our famous “hassle free promise” and make sure every guest feels special.

Who You Are: Skills We’re Looking For

  • Customer and sales experience: You bring at least six months’ experience in a sales role, so you’re comfortable engaging with people over the telephone and helping them to make a purchase.
  • Excellent communicator: You can build rapport quickly, listen actively, and convey information clearly over the phone and in writing.
  • Consultative sales approach: You’re skilled at asking the right questions to understand customer needs and confidently recommending the best holiday options, meeting both customer satisfaction and sales goals.
  • Tech-savvy: You’re at ease using computer and phone systems, and you can learn our booking and CRM tools quickly.
  • Organised and goal-oriented: You can manage your time, follow up on leads, and hit performance targets without compromising on service quality.
  • Team player: You enjoy working in a supportive, on-site team environment at our Rotherham HQ, and you contribute to a positive workplace culture.
  • Passion for travel: You’re excited about holidays and destinations, our training will help you build product knowledge even if you’re new to the travel sector.

Sound Like You?

We aren’t looking for a recap of the role in your application; instead, we want to see your genuine experiences and personality. Please avoid submitting AI-generated CVs, share real examples from your sales or customer-facing roles that show how you communicate with customers, hit goals, and work with a team. Your unique story and passion for travel will help us understand how you’ll fit into our supportive team.

Please note that we do receive a large number of applications to join our team. Due to this, it is sometimes difficult to reply to everyone. Therefore, if you haven't heard from us within 7 days, please assume that your application was unsuccessful on this occasion. No recruitment agencies please.
