Position Summary

The Graphics & Video Operator is responsible for the preparation, operation, and delivery of live graphics and video content across stadium LED displays, scoreboards, ribbon boards, and large-format digital screens during sporting events. Working as part of the matchday production team, the role ensures all visual content is delivered accurately, on time, and to the highest production standards, enhancing the live fan experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate LED display systems during live sporting events, ensuring seamless playback of graphics, animations, sponsor content, and video.
  • Execute live event rundowns, cueing content in accordance with production schedules and director instructions.
  • Manage real-time graphics including score updates, player statistics, timing information, lower thirds, and match-related visual elements.
  • Coordinate closely with producers, directors, replay operators, presenters, announcers, and venue technical teams throughout live productions.
  • Prepare and test graphics packages, sponsor assets, and video content prior to events.
  • Verify content formatting, resolution, colour space, and playback compatibility for LED display systems.
  • Monitor display outputs during events and respond quickly to operational issues or last-minute production changes.
  • Ensure sponsor and commercial content is delivered accurately according to contractual obligations.
  • Assist with system setup, testing, troubleshooting, and post-event shutdown procedures.
  • Maintain organised media libraries and version control for graphics and video assets.
  • Follow operational procedures to ensure consistency, safety, and reliability during live broadcasts and venue presentations.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience operating graphics or video playback systems within live sports, broadcast, or live event environments.
  • Understanding of live production workflows and event timing.
  • Familiarity with LED display technologies and large-format digital screen operation.
  • Experience with graphics and playback systems such as Ross XPression, Vizrt, Chyron, Daktronics, BrightSign, Hippotizer, Resolume, Pixera, Vmi or similar platforms is desirable.
  • Knowledge of video codecs, resolutions, frame rates, and media management.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure in fast-paced live environments.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues calmly and efficiently.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays in line with sporting event schedules.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Broadcast, Media Production, Television, Live Events, or a related field.
  • Experience working in professional sports venues or live broadcast environments.
  • Understanding of networking, video signal distribution, and AV infrastructure.
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or motion graphics workflows.

Working Environment

This role is primarily based at sports venues and event locations. It involves working in production control rooms, technical areas, and occasionally pitch-side or event spaces. The position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to support live sporting events. International events available.

Pay: £200.00-£350.00 per day
