Full job description

Yamaha Music School Manager – Job Opportunity

Are you passionate about teaching music? Are you well-organised and a self-starter? If so, you could be the perfect candidate to oversee and grow our Yamaha Music School, based in Banbury, Oxfordshire.

We’re looking for a driven and enthusiastic piano teacher to take charge of our new Yamaha Music School, helping to recruit students and, ultimately, new teachers. Your success in expanding the school will directly impact your earning potential, with generous remuneration opportunities based on student recruitment.

What We Offer:

  • A guaranteed monthly income for your first six months(or until earnings exceed the retainer amount, whichever is soonest) to ensure financial stability as you build student numbers.
  • Training in Yamaha teaching methodology to support your professional development.
  • An on-site office with internet access and all necessary resources, including instruments – just bring your enthusiasm!

Earning Potential:

To give you an idea of your potential earnings once lessons are established:

  • 6 weekly group lessons (50 minutes each, with 6 students per class): £252 per teaching week
  • 10 weekly group lessons: £420 per teaching week
  • 16 weekly group lessons: £672 per teaching week

Who We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum Grade 6 keyboard/piano qualification and well-rounded musical skills (you may be required to take a Yamaha Music School Teacher Entry Test).
  • Experience managing groups of adults and children (aged 6+) in a teaching environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to recruit and manage students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach engaging evening and weekend lessons.
  • Follow Yamaha’s structured lesson plan templates.
  • Attend teacher training days and student recruitment events (including Free Taster Lesson Days).
  • Provide occasional cover for other teachers.
  • Contribute to social media and promotional efforts for the school.
  • Participate in bi-weekly digital and in-person check-ins.

Benefits of Joining Us:

  • Become part of an established team of music teachers.
  • Enjoy higher earning potential than traditional 1-to-1 teaching.
  • Receive ongoing training and CPD from Yamaha HQ.

Requirements:

Availability for evening and weekend teaching ✅ Driving licence and own transport (preferred) ✅ GCSE or equivalent qualification (preferred) ✅ Minimum 1 year of teaching experience (preferred)

How to Apply:

We look forward to hearing from you!
