Job Description

Merienda is a busy cafe during the day and a cosy Spanish English restaurant during the evening Keswick , we are looking to hire an enthusiastic and professional Individual to join our front of house team. The ideal candidate have excellent guest service and have experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Training will be provided

Duties

  • Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special dietary requirements are noted
  • Serve food and drinks efficiently, maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
  • Provide knowledgeable recommendations to upsell menu items and enhance guest satisfaction
  • Ensure all health and safety standards, including food safety regulations, are adhered to at all times
  • Clear tables promptly and assist with setting up dining areas for new guests
  • Handle guest enquiries professionally, resolving any issues swiftly to ensure a positive experience
  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks as required, supporting the kitchen team when necessary
  • Maintain cleanliness of service areas, including tables, counters, and service stations

Requirements

  • Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques is advantageous
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic maths skills for handling bills and transactions accurately
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
