Full job description

Bold Street Coffee is expanding, and we're bringing our brand to Chester. We're all about Northern hospitality, quality without comprimise - coffee, food and community. As we open our newest site, we're looking for a General Manager who wants to build something from the ground up and make it their own.

Our Ethos

At Bold Street Coffee, we serve more than just coffee. We serve a daily ritual that's rooted in quality, connection and community.

Born in Liverpool in 2010, we've grown from a single shop into a Northern institution. Proudly independent, shaped by the people we serve and fulled by a commitment to doing things properly.

We believe great hospitality starts with sincerity. Our spaces are welcoming and inclusive, where names are remembered, relationships forged and everyone can take a moment to feel at home.

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to lead a brand-new location from opening day. You'll be the person who turns an empty space into a buzzing local favourite - hiring and training the team, dialling in the standards, and building the kind of regulars-list every coffee shop dreams of.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the launch of our new Chester site, from final fit-out through to opening week and beyond
  • Recruit, train, and build a team that shares our passion for great coffee and genuine hospitality
  • Own the day-to-day running of the shop: rotas, stock, supplier relationships, and PnL management
  • Set and maintain our coffee and food standards, working closely with our Operations team
  • Manage budgets and drive the site's commercial performance - sales, margins, and costs
  • Create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for guests and staff alike
  • Build relationships with the local community and help Bold Street Coffee become a fixture in Chester

What We're Looking For

  • Previous management experience in a coffee shop, café, or hospitality setting
  • A genuine passion for specialty coffee
  • Confidence leading and motivating a team, especially in the fast-paced early days of a launch
  • Strong organisational skills - you can juggle recruitment, rotas, ordering, and service without breaking a sweat
  • A hands-on attitude and someone who leads from the front- this role is on the floor, not just in the office
  • Someone who cares about the details, from the milk texture to how our guests day is going

Pay: £35,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Company pension
  • Discounted or free food
  • Employee discount

Experience:

  • Management: 2 years (required)

Work Location: In person
