Job 1: Senior Chef – The Pilgrims Café

The Pilgrims Café is a newly established business looking for an experienced Senior Chef to cover our Head Chef’s days off. This will involve working on Sundays and Mondays each week, alongside additional ad hoc shifts when required.

We are looking for a confident, experienced chef with a strong background in commercial catering and a passion for fresh food. You should be comfortable taking responsibility for the kitchen, maintaining high standards of food preparation and presentation, and ensuring the smooth running of service in the Head Chef’s absence.

Our café is building its reputation around locally sourced meat, fresh seasonal ingredients and quality home-cooked food. We are looking for someone who shares this ethos and takes pride in producing excellent dishes.

Working hours: 7:30 am – 3:30/4:00 pm

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in a senior chef or similar supervisory role.
  • The ability to take charge of the kitchen and work independently.
  • Strong skills in fresh food preparation, cooking and presentation.
  • Excellent knowledge of food hygiene, safety standards and kitchen management.
  • The ability to maintain consistency and quality during service.
  • A passion for seasonal ingredients and locally sourced produce.

Job 2: Breakfast Chef – Beacons Guest House

Beacons Guest House, Brecon, Powys, is looking for a reliable and capable Breakfast Chef to prepare and serve breakfast to our guests.

During the quieter winter months, you will be working independently in the kitchen, so we need someone who is confident cooking breakfast, organising their workload and maintaining a clean, safe and well-run kitchen.

Depending on how busy the guest house is, you may also be required to serve guests when additional waiting staff are not needed.

You should be friendly, approachable and comfortable speaking with guests, answering their queries and helping to ensure they have a positive experience during their stay.

Working hours: 7.30am - 11:00/12:00pm

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen, ideally preparing and cooking breakfast.
  • The ability to work independently and manage the kitchen confidently.
  • Good cooking skills and an understanding of food preparation and presentation.
  • A good knowledge of food hygiene, kitchen cleanliness and food safety.
  • A friendly attitude and good customer service skills.
  • Someone reliable, organised and able to work to a consistent standard.

Working Arrangements

We are looking to recruit either two part-time chefs, with one chef at each location, or one chef who would prefer full-time hours and is happy to work across both businesses.

The two locations are approximately a three-minute drive apart.

Pay: £12.71-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 35.0 per week
