Full job description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated FEMALE Live-in Care Assistant 25 yrs+ to provide personalised support and assistance to individuals with a spinal cord injury in their own homes. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for clients through attentive care, effective communication, and a respectful approach.
Duties
- Offer personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, ensuring the client’s needs and preferences are met with dignity and respect.
- Assist with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the client’s condition to relevant healthcare professionals.
- Manage household tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organising appointments as required.
- Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care.
We offer:
- £1001 per week plus a weekly food allowance.
- A paid 4-day residential training course commencing the week of the 10th until 13th August
- Free DBS/PVG background checks.
- Free accommodation whilst you train and work.
- Flexible working patterns and field support.
Requirements
- Valid Full UK or International driving licence and ability to drive safely are essential.
- 25+ yrs Female carer (genuine occupational requirement & to be insured to drive the client's car)
- Experience working in a care setting is an advantage, but not essential.
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow prescribed routines accurately.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for effective communication.
- Excellent communication skills with a caring and empathetic nature.
- Ability to work independently while demonstrating organisational skills to manage daily responsibilities effectively.
- Spinal injury experience preferred but not essential
- Comfortable taking direction and listening
- Professional, reliable, and calm under pressure
- Must be willing to travel to different locations (we pay travel costs). This position is suitable for Healthcare Assistants, Care Assistants, and Support Workers and those looking for a career change.
