Full job description

We aren't normal.

We generate leads and sales that create connections, spark conversations, and most importantly, conversions. We do it with the most creative, captivating and catchy written content you will see online today.

This is an exciting opportunity for a sharp, creative and experienced content leader to take the reins of our content team. We move fast and we work digitally, with tools like Google Docs, Monday.com, Slack and Figma at the heart of how we plan, draft, review and deliver. If you like to scribble first ideas on paper, great, but the real work happens online.

Reporting to the Creative Director, this is a leadership role. You will not just write brilliant content, you will build a team that does, set the standards they work to, and own the impact that content has on the business.

About the role

As our Senior Content Writer, you will lead on:

Team Leadership & Performance

● Lead, manage and develop a team of writers, coaching them to sharpen their craft and consistently do their best work.

● Set clear KPIs, track performance against them, and get the best possible output from the team.

● Present the team's performance, direction and the real impact of its work to leadership, backed by data.

● Be proactive in setting new processes, briefs and standards that make the team faster, sharper and more consistent.

● Own the people side of the team: performance management, resource requests and pay reviews, with consistent follow-through.

● Forecast team capacity and project timelines proactively to spot and prevent bottlenecks before they happen.

Paid Media & Conversion (our top priority)

● Write paid media content that converts: ad copy, landing pages and campaign messaging engineered to drive clicks and high-intent leads.

● Master the hook: scroll-stopping openers and direct-response copy built to win attention in the first second and turn it into action.

● Run a high-volume creative engine, producing and testing many ad variations to scale spend and learn what works fastest.

● Partner with designers in Figma so the written hook and the visual hook work as one.

● Improve conversion rates across our websites with sharper, clearer and more persuasive copy.

● Strengthen our brand on blogs and social media.

Re-engagement

● Turn partial leads into full leads through clever email, SMS and direct mail campaigns.

● Win back lapsed audiences with content that earns a response.

Content Strategy & Creation

● Plan, write and edit high-quality content across websites, blogs, social media, email, ads and whitepapers.

● Develop content strategies that align with brand voice, campaign objectives and commercial goals.

● Proactively spot gaps and opportunities to improve campaigns and the wider business with great content.

AI & Innovation

● Use AI to supercharge the team's performance, data and results.

● Encourage the team to work collaboratively and to use AI effectively as part of their everyday workflow.

SEO & Performance

● Create SEO-optimised content using keyword research, competitor analysis and industry trends.

● Monitor content performance and adjust strategy to improve engagement and conversion.

Quality Control

● Proofread and edit copy for accuracy, grammar, tone and style.

● Maintain brand guidelines and messaging consistency across all platforms.

Skills & qualifications

● 4 to 6 years of content writing experience, preferably in a digital marketing agency or similar environment.

● Proven experience leading or managing writers, with a talent for coaching, motivating and getting the best out of a team.

● A track record in paid media content, with results to show for it.

● Direct-response expertise: you understand hooks, openers and the psychology of stopping the scroll, and you write to win the click.

● Comfortable in a high-volume, test-and-learn environment, ready to ship and refine many variations to scale ad spend.

● Proven ability to write for diverse industries and audiences, with the finance and tech sectors being a plus.

● Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in both long-form and short-form content.

● Comfortable with data: able to read performance, draw conclusions and present them clearly.

● Excellent understanding of SEO, content marketing and digital trends.

● Confident, effective use of AI tools, and keen to help others get value from them.

● Proactive and process-minded, spotting opportunities and putting structure in place without being asked.

● Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

● Creativity with a strategic mindset, balancing storytelling with data-driven insights.

What we can offer

● Salary: £42,000 to £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

● 37.5 hours per week

● Company pension scheme

● Company health plan

● Hybrid working arrangement (4 days in office, 1 remote)

● Work in a fast-paced, creative environment.

Pay: £42,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
