Are you the person we're looking for?

We're looking for a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Person with experience across a range of building trades. To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Proven experience in a maintenance, building or property maintenance role.
  • Practical skills in plumbing, carpentry and basic electrical work.
  • A good understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
  • The ability to carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and regulatory checks.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • A proactive, flexible approach with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

About the Role

Langdale Care Homes is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Maintenance Person to join our maintenance team.

You will help ensure our homes remain safe, well-maintained and welcoming environments for the people we support, our staff and visitors. The role involves carrying out planned preventative maintenance, responding to day-to-day repair requests, supporting refurbishment and building projects, and ensuring our properties are maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance across our care homes.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and repair faults.
  • Complete general building repairs and maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry and basic electrical work.
  • Support refurbishment, decorating and improvement projects.
  • Carry out routine safety inspections and regulatory compliance checks.
  • Complete maintenance records and associated paperwork accurately.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and well-presented environment for residents, colleagues and visitors.

Skills & ExperienceEssential

  • Previous experience in a maintenance, building or facilities role.
  • Practical experience in plumbing, carpentry and basic electrical maintenance.
  • Good understanding of health and safety legislation.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Flexible, reliable and positive with a strong "can-do" attitude.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence and own vehicle.

Desirable

  • Experience working within a care, healthcare or residential environment.
  • Multi-skilled trade qualifications or relevant vocational training.
