Company Overview

Hestia Homes for Children was established in 2021 with the aim of providing bespoke care and support to children and young people with learning disabilities. We create stimulating environments where children can achieve, build positive relationships, and feel at home. Our mission is to inspire happiness, promote safety, and foster confidence and self-esteem in a family-oriented atmosphere.

Summary

Are you resilient, compassionate, and ready to make a real difference in a child’s life?
Hestia Homes is looking for dedicated Support Workers to join our warm, family‑style residential homes in Reading, where we support children with autism to thrive, grow, and feel truly understood.

With two homes rated Good and Outstanding, we’re proud of the nurturing environments we’ve created — and we’re excited to welcome new people who want to start or continue a rewarding career in children’s social care.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide personalised care and support to children and young people with learning disabilities and autism.
  • Assist in implementing individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
  • Foster positive relationships built on trust, respect, and understanding.
  • Act as a positive role model
  • Support children in developing social skills, independence, and confidence.
  • Collaborate with team members to create a safe and stimulating environment.
  • Promote inclusive activities that encourage participation and growth.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and progress made.

What We’re Looking For

We value people, not just experience.
You’ll be a great fit if you are:

  • Resilient and calm under pressure
  • Compassionate, patient, and child‑centred
  • Dedicated to helping children reach their potential
  • Eager to learn, grow, and develop professionally

Whether you’re new to care or already experienced, we’ll invest in your development every step of the way.

What We Offer

  • 3‑week rolling rota – predictable, balanced working pattern
  • No sleep‑ins
  • Full training, including a fully funded Diploma in Residential Childcare
  • Vitality Health Insurance
  • Blue Light Card discounts
  • Fully funded enhanced DBS
  • A family‑style working environment where you’re valued and supported

We are unable to offer sponsorship for these roles.

Safeguarding Commitment

Hestia Homes for Children is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. All positions at the home are subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check, references and receipt of the appropriate Right to Work documents.
