General Assistant Required

Red Lea Hotel, Scarborough, North Yorkshire

Hours: 32hrs – 40hrs/ Week

Salary: £12.90/hr

We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, and hardworking General Assistant to join our friendly team at the Red Lea Hotel in Scarborough.

As a General Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring our guests enjoy a warm welcome and exceptional service throughout their stay. This is a varied, hands-on position where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serving Food & Drinks – Deliver excellent table and bar service in our restaurant and lounge areas
  • Housekeeping – Maintain high standards of cleanliness in guest bedrooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all guests
  • Assist with general hotel duties including setting up dining areas, clearing tables, and restocking supplies
  • Support the wider team during busy periods and events

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in hospitality (hotel, restaurant, or bar) is preferred but not essential – the right attitude is more important!
  • A positive, can-do approach and strong work ethic
  • Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, professional manner
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and bank holidays
  • A passion for delivering great guest experiences
