Full job description

To ensure the load is safely and efficiently transported from collection to delivery and undertake packing, loading and unloading as and when required.


  • Pack, carry, load and unload the vehicle containing customer and client personal effects and furniture
  • Operate a commercial HGV vehicle in a safe and reliable manner and be responsible at all times for the vehicle and its load
  • Undertake daily vehicle and safety checks, routine maintenance (e.g. oil and water checks) and report any defects
  • Carry out work safely and in accordance with the Safe Systems at Work Procedures, methods, statements or other instructions
  • Check all vehicle loads comply with the requirements of Road Traffic Legislation and the defined operating limits of the vehicle
  • Undertake regular training required as part of the Driver Continuing Professional Competence (CPC qualification)
  • Work independently and within a team where and when required
  • Complete all vehicle paperwork as required
  • Complete and return paperwork as required when making deliveries
  • Contribute to your own development and that of others
  • To ensure compliance of oneself with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and of oneself and subordinates with defined Quality System Policy and Procedures pertinent to ISO9002
  • Any other duties as may be requested by Management.
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • Full Driver CPC
  • Maintain professional conduct at all times
