Job Overview

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Trainee Bathroom Fitter & Tiler to work alongside an experienced bathroom fitter on residential bathroom renovation projects.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is interested in developing a career in bathroom fitting and tiling and wants to learn through practical, on-site experience. You will be involved in different stages of bathroom renovations, from preparation and removal of existing bathrooms through to tiling, installation and finishing.

Previous experience in construction, tiling or bathroom fitting would be beneficial but is not essential. More important is a practical attitude, willingness to learn, reliability and good attention to detail.

The role is approximately 4 days per week, working at different customer properties in and around the local area of Bristol.

Pay: £12-14 per hour, depending on previous experience and existing skills, with the opportunity for the rate to increase as skills and responsibilities develop.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with removal of existing bathrooms, tiles and fixtures
• Preparing walls and floors ready for tiling and installation
• Learning and assisting with wall and floor tiling, including measuring, cutting, setting out, grouting and silicone finishing
• Assisting with the installation of baths, shower trays, screens, toilets, basins, vanity units and bathroom furniture
• Learning waterproofing and bathroom preparation techniques
• Helping with general bathroom installation and finishing work
• Measuring, cutting and preparing materials
• Collecting, loading and unloading materials and tools
• Keeping tools and working areas clean, organised and safe
• Protecting customers' homes and maintaining a professional standard while working in occupied properties
• Following instructions and safe working practices
• Developing the skills required to complete increasingly complex tasks independently

Requirements

• Is genuinely interested in learning bathroom fitting and tiling
• Is practical, hardworking and willing to learn
• Has good attention to detail and takes pride in their work
• Is reliable and punctual
• Is comfortable with physical, hands-on work
• Can follow instructions but is also willing to use initiative
• Is respectful and professional when working in customers' homes
• Is comfortable using or learning to use hand and power tools
• Can work well as part of a small team
• Having your own transport would be beneficial, as the role involves travelling to different residential job locations across Bristol and the surrounding areas.

This is a good opportunity for someone who wants to learn the complete bathroom fitting process rather than specialising in only one trade.
