Opportunity for an RGN to join our team!
Belmont Grange Care Home is a 30 bedded care home located in the heart of Belmont, Durham with a mix of clients with both nursing and residential needs.
What makes Belmont Grange special? We are a community care home, with many residents and staff having lived or currently living in Belmont and the surrounding areas. As a result, residents and families feel at home and are able to maintain strong connections to their roots. We have strong links with the community, including the local church, café, library and schools, and embrace the importance of connection.
At Belmont Grange, we want residents, their families and friends to feel at home. We aim to provide kind and compassionate needs-led care, with every resident receiving individualised care appropriate to their needs. We recognise the importance of fostering warm and positive relationships and encourage creativity and new ideas.
Staff are all regarded as equally important, and the focus is on teamwork and supporting each other in what is a fast-paced environment. Staff are offered opportunities for development via online and face to face training, in addition to accessing outside training as needs are identified. Regular supervision is provided for all staff, and staff are encouraged to identify areas for development and to adopt a solution focused approach to their work.
We are looking for a qualified nurse to join our team on a permanent basis, working 24 - 36 hours over 2 - 3 nights.
The ideal candidate would:
· Be a registered general nurse
· Have recent hands-on care experience as a lead nurse on shift or recent experience in a clinical setting
· Offer consistent, competent care provided with kindness and compassion
· Have strong teamwork skills
· Have strong organisational /leadership skills
· Have clear and effective communication skills – both verbal and written
· Have a positive, solution focused approach
· Role model good practice
· Encourage learning and development in others
· Have a good understanding of evidence-based practice
· Be able to reflect well both on and in practice
· Have a good understanding of the NMC Code of Practice and adhere to this at all times
This is night duty nursing post

About the role:
· To develop positive therapeutic relationships with residents and their families, communicating in a respectful and compassionate manner.
· To provide accurate and resident friendly education regarding health, wellbeing, interventions and medication.
· To act as shift lead, providing leadership, structure and support to care team.
· To deliver high-quality evidence-based nursing care to residents, using ongoing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation skills.
· To support the care team with hands on support as required, promoting a positive culture of collaborative teamwork.
· To adopt a supportive and encouraging approach to teaching and sharing practice wisdom with colleagues.
· To review and update care plans in a proactive manner, demonstrating clear and accurate verbal and written communication.
· To maintain detailed, accurate, and timely written records.
· To work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, liaising with and updating in a timely fashion.
· To maintain high standards with regards to the administering of medication and adhering to the NMC Professional Code of Conduct.
· To participate in ongoing professional development, to ensure practice remains relevant.
· To engage in reflective practice and embrace clinical and peer supervision.
· To identify areas of potential practice development and to use a solution focused approach to address issues.
Experience
Required:
· Registered General Nurse.
· Recent experience of providing care as a shift leader.
· Minimum 1 year post registration experience
· Experience of working with older people
Pay: £24.57 per hour
Expected hours: 24.0 – 36.0 per week
