Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Practice Nurse to oversee clinical operations within our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various nursing disciplines, including senior care, hospice, dementia, and paediatric care. This role involves supervising nursing staff, managing patient care plans, and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. The Lead Practice Nurse will play a vital part in delivering high-quality care. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional to lead a team while maintaining exemplary patient care standards.

Pay is dependent on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of patient care.
  • · Support and on occasion lead with Infection Prevention Control (IPC) and work to the IPC policy

· Consult with patients and their families to undertake assessments of patient need

· Management of chronic disease

· Cervical Cytology

· Childhood Immunisation

· Administer a range of adult vaccinations

· Organise and support Practice Manager with the flu campaign

· Wound care

· ECGs

· Hypertension management

· Actively participate in achieving QoF and enhanced services targets and recall demands

· Understand EMIS and EMIS searches

· Participate in practice audit as directed by the Clinical Lead/Practice Manager

· Support and participate in shared learning within the practice

· To be an instrumental part of the clinical team attend regular nurse meetings

· Keep up to date with NICE guidelines as required

Develop, review and implement nursing protocols in conjunction with the partners

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse qualification with current registration recognised by relevant authorities.
  • Demonstrable supervisory or team management experience within healthcare settings.
  • Familiarity with case management principles and medication administration protocols.
  • Experience working with children, including Toddler care, is highly desirable.
  • Skills in laboratory procedures and medical imaging are advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy and clinical best practices relevant to diverse patient groups.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to lead a multidisciplinary team effectively.
