Location: 30 Euston Square, London (Hybrid working – minimum 2 days per week in the office)

The Royal College of General Practitioners is the largest membership organisation solely for GPs in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1952, it has over 55,000 members who are committed to improving patient care, developing their own skills and promoting general practice as a discipline. General practice is the largest branch of the medical profession. It provides some 1 million consultations for patients in the UK every working day and deals with 86% of the health problems experienced by the UK population.

The purpose of the SCA is to assess a GP trainee’s ability to integrate and apply skills appropriate for general practice. It is a standardised clinical OSCE delivered in the GP trainees practice under invigilated conditions. The Examinations Officer (SCA Operations) will support the Examinations Manager (SCA Operations) with the preparation and delivery of the SCA live examinations. This role involves administrative, communication, and technical tasks to ensure the smooth running of examination days and the provision of up-to-date information to all participants.

The successful candidate for this role will have experience in administration and documenting processes, with the ability to identify areas for process improvement. The successful candidate should be confident in using IT systems, and a strong communicator to help support with the SCA IT helpline. The ideal candidate should be an effective problem solver, highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and adopts a high degree of flexibility to work, whilst juggling conflicting priorities.
