Full job description

Meadowbrook Surgery are a friendly GP practice situated in an affluent residential area. We are looking for a GP receptionist who has experience with dealing with the public and who can work well within a team as well as work independently.

We are looking for applicants who are reliable, flexible and are committed to providing an excellent customer service. Ideally the candidate will be proficient in using EMIS Web and DOCMAN and will have at least 2 years working within a general practice environment.

The vacancy is a 27 hours post spread over 5 days a week and will be on a rotational basis as shown below:

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8.00am to 2.00pm, Thursday 8.00am to 12.00 and Fridays 8.00am to 1.00pm

Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8.00am to 2.00pm, Thursday 8.00am to 12.00 and Fridays 1.30pm to 6.30pm

Main duties of the role is to offer administrative support to our clinical team as outlined below:

Processing telephone requests for appointments, home visits, telephone consultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional.

Processing and distributing incoming/outgoing mail

Taking messages and passing on information

Filing and retrieving paperwork

Computer data entry/data collation: Processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures

Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers

Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £12.71 per hour
