Nurse Associate – Far Lane Medical Centre

Far Lane Medical Centre operates across two sites, and this position will require the successful candidate to work at both locations as needed.

A Nurse Associate works as part of the GP practice team to provide high-quality patient care and support the nursing and medical staff. They deliver a range of clinical duties, promote health and wellbeing, and help ensure patients receive safe and effective care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine clinical procedures such as blood pressure checks, wound care, dressings, and health observations.
  • Perform venepuncture, and other delegated clinical tasks within competence and training.
  • Support patients with long-term condition monitoring and health promotion activities.
  • Assist with immunisation and vaccination programmes as appropriate.
  • Provide health education and advice to patients on maintaining healthy lifestyles.
  • Accurately record patient information and maintain clinical records.
  • Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Follow infection prevention, safeguarding, confidentiality, and clinical governance policies.
  • Recognise changes in a patient's condition and escalate concerns appropriately.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Registered Nursing Associate with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Understanding of primary care and patient-centred care principles.
  • Competent in using clinical IT systems and maintaining accurate records.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

Hours: Full time

Reports to: Lead Practice Nurse or Practice Manager.
