About Us
Rea Valley Partnership is a friendly and busy GP partnership committed to providing high-quality care to our local community over three sites within the South Birmingham area, Kings Norton Surgery, Ashtree and Keynell Covert. We are looking for an organised and approachable Medical Receptionist, to join our reception team, helping us deliver an excellent patient experience every day.

About the Role
As a GP Receptionist/Administrator, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing support both face-to-face and over the phone. You’ll handle a variety of administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth running of the practice and helping patients access the care they need efficiently.

Hours

30hrs (6hrs per day x 5 days)

Shifts consist of a variety of 8am - 2pm (or) 12.30pm - 6.30pm

Main Key Responsibilities

  • Greeting and assisting patients in a professional, courteous manner
  • Managing telephone and email enquiries
  • Booking, cancelling, and managing appointments
  • Processing repeat prescription requests
  • Updating and maintaining accurate patient records
  • Supporting clinicians and practice staff with administrative tasks
  • Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection policies

About You

  • Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role (NHS experience desirable but not essential)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and database systems
  • Ability to multitask and work calmly under pressure
  • A team player with a positive, caring attitude
  • Flexibility to work across multiple sites (within a 20 minute walk of each other)
