Production Technician

This is done by developing, producing, and commercialising the next generation of carbon negative, plant based, performance building materials for the construction sector. Adaptavate continue to launch new products, build revolutionary processes, and grow our game-changing team. Our products are designed for every builder, architect, or homeowner to use or specify.

Adaptavate have developed Breathaboard as a sustainable, low carbon alternative to standard plasterboard. By delivering this innovation through our pilot line, we will catalyse genuine environmental change to the UK and beyond at a time when the planet needs it most.

We are expanding our team and need a Production Technician to support us, collaborate with us and help us achieve all that we’re aiming for. We cannot wait for you to join us.

Your role

We are looking to recruit a practical candidate who is adaptable and pro-active, to conduct workshop and quality activities. In our workshop the team has built the first of its kind pilot production line that will make Breathaboard for commercial projects. The pilot line is not only delivering revolutionary new product but serves as a platform for continuous process development and innovation. We will support you in learning these new processes, so direct prior experience is not necessary, but practical aptitude and a proven background in working as part of a team is definitely required.

Our pilot line will be delivering product to projects around the world as well as developing new product variants. This is not a standard mass production line. We are looking for someone to learn and help us move forward with all practical activities both Production and Quality focused. As the Production Technician you will join a small team and be involved in maintaining high workshop standards, optimizing our tools, plant and pilot line. In addition, there will be an opportunity to get involved across multiple disciplines within the production areas including - data capture, analysis and quality, our laboratories, our curing process and production line.


  • Supporting the Production team in all aspects of manufacturing BreathaBoard and be involved with continuous improvement of our pilot production line.
  • Carry out detailed QA of BreathaBoard products and record required data to support quality management.
  • Support the Production Supervisor in best-practice initiatives – moving towards a world-class facility.
  • Carry out in process material tests and associated quality assurance recording for traceability needs.
  • Be involved in goods-in inspection of materials - for material traceability and quality fit-for-purpose.
  • Packing and logistics for both BreathaBoard and Breathaplasta customer orders.
  • Manufacturing prototype products on the production line as Development team may require.
  • Carrying out laboratory support activities including testing products and prototypes as required.
  • A combination of independent working and collaborative problem solving.
  • Workshop and Line maintenance, cleaning, and inspection.

Our Production Technician will:

  • Have a minimum of two years' experience in a production, construction or manufacturing environment.
  • Enjoy detailed work, with an eye for accuracy, it would be great if you could show examples where you have worked with/ to standard operating procedures or drawings.
  • Demonstrate a ‘can-do’, positive attitude and a willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the job done well.
  • Enjoy working as part of a small, goal-oriented team that want to make a positive impact.
  • Have a willingness to want to move into future supervisory roles as we continue to grow and adapt.
  • Be committed to furthering our response to climate concerns.
