Woodbank Garden Centre, Harden, Bingley

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Woodbank Garden Centre as a full-time Garden Centre Assistant / Yard Assistant/ Xmas Assistant.

We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic, and reliable individual with a passion for plants, gardening, and customer service to help support the day-to-day operations of our busy garden centre.

Main Duties May Include:

  • Watering and caring for plants
  • Repotting and pricking out
  • Plant maintenance and display preparation
  • Use of Basic Power Tools & Jet wash etc
  • Stocking plants, gardening products and related merchandise
  • Creating attractive retail displays (During the Christmas Period)
  • Assisting customers with advice and purchases
  • General housekeeping and maintenance duties across the garden centre
  • Heavy lifting and working outdoors in all weather conditions when required

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a garden centre, nursery, horticultural or retail environment would be advantageous
  • An interest in horticulture but not essential
  • Horticultural qualifications are beneficial but not essential
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and use initiative
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
  • Reliable, flexible and willing to work weekends
  • Due to the location, your own reliable transport is needed

Hours:

40 hours per week across 5 days
(4 weekdays and 1 weekend day)

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shifts - Monday to Friday 8.30 am - 5.30 pm, Sat 9 am 5 pm, Sun 9.30 am - 4.30 pm
