Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent organisational skills, and a keen eye for food safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in catering, cooking, and food preparation within a dynamic setting.

Duties

  • Assist with meal preparation and food assembly, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards
  • Support the cooking process by preparing ingredients and basic cooking tasks under supervision
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen surfaces
  • Organise ingredients and supplies to ensure efficient workflow during service times
  • Follow food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times
  • Help with serving food to customers or guests as required
  • Support catering events by setting up and clearing down after service
  • Assist with stock checks and inventory management to ensure supplies are well-maintained

Skills

  • Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or food service is desirable
  • Knowledge of cooking techniques and meal preparation processes
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Basic culinary experience is advantageous but training will be provided for the right candidate
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety
