Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organised Garden Centre Assistant to join our team in Pitsford. This role involves providing excellent customer service, assisting with plant and gardening product displays, and supporting daily operations within the centre. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening and horticulture, along with strong communication skills and an ability to multi-task. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge of plants and retail merchandising in a vibrant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting customers with their gardening enquiries and providing expert advice on plants, sundries, and accessories.
  • Maintaining attractive and well-organised plant displays and merchandise throughout the centre
  • Restocking shelves and ensuring products are correctly labelled and priced.
  • Supporting the team with daily operational tasks, including cash handling and stock management
  • Keeping the centre clean, tidy, and safe for visitors and staff
  • Assisting with vehicle loading and deliveries when required.

Qualifications

  • Passion for gardening, horticulture, or related fields is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Good Maths skills would be preferred.
  • Presentable with strong organisational skills to manage stock and display products
  • Weekend working is essential for this role.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience is essential; training will be provided
  • Good organisational skills to prioritise tasks efficiently and work independently or as part of a team
  • Enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn about plants, gardening techniques, and merchandising practices

Pay: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
