About Us

The Royal Victoria Hotel is a busy 104-bedroom hotel uniquely located at the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) within Eryri National Park, set in 30 acres of private gardens and woodland in the beautiful village of Llanberis.

Our hotel features an AA Rosette restaurant, a popular dining and bar operation, and an award-winning wedding and events venue. Our team members are key to our success, and we are proud to employ many long-serving staff.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our Food & Beverage team. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences and supporting the successful operation of a busy hotel restaurant, events, weddings, conferences, and private dining services.

Working closely with the Restaurant Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining high service standards, developing team members, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of all restaurant operations. The Position is Full-time (40 hours per week). We are also happy to consider part-time applications for candidates able to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

Support the daily operation of the restaurant, room service and event catering functions.

Lead service shifts and ensure exceptional guest experiences at all times.

Handle guest enquiries and complaints professionally and effectively.

Support staff training, coaching, and development.

Assist with rota management and staffing levels.

Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, presentation, and compliance.

Support stock control, cost management, and waste reduction initiatives.

Work closely with the Restaurant Manager, Kitchen Team and Events Team to deliver seamless service.

Take responsibility for the restaurant operation in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.

About You

The Ideal candidate will possess:

Previous supervisory or management experience within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment.

Strong leadership and team development skills.

Excellent customer service and communication abilities.

Good knowledge of food and beverage service, including wines, beers, spirits, and cocktails.

Understanding of food safety, allergen management, and licensing regulations.

Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.

Personal Licence Holder qualification (or willingness to obtain).
