Part-time Gardener required.

An opportunity has arisen for a Skilled Gardener to play a key role in the ongoing development and maintenance of a beautiful private estate near Cadnam, New Forest, on a 2-3 day/week basis. This role is open to self-employed gardeners who can demonstrate a thorough understanding of horticulture with excellent plant identification and time management skills.

The gardens consists of formal areas including lawns, herbaceous borders, a rose garden, a knot garden, a kitchen garden with a green house, an orchard, a tennis court, wildflower areas, a large lake, ponds, paddocks, and woodlands / parkland.

The ideal candidate has a good understanding of pruning techniques and plant care and has previous gardening experience working for a large private garden.

Applicants must be comfortable with the safe operation of a wide range of garden/estate machinery, with excellent practical skills and knowledge of safe working practices as the work will involve the use of chemical spray applicators, hedge cutters, strimmers, ride-on and pedestrian mowers, blowers etc.

Other requirements are exceptional attention to detail, enthusiasm, self-motivated, whilst working to consistently high standards in gardening practices and tidiness. Good communication skills are important as is the ability to be a team player and always have a flexible and a helpful approach.

Applicants will need a full driving licence and their own transport due to the rural location of the property.

Ideally 3 x days per week to include Mondays and Fridays

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
