Full job description
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and a strong understanding of garden maintenance and landscape gardening. This role involves working outdoors to create and maintain beautiful landscapes, ensuring that gardens are healthy, vibrant, and thriving. Duties
- Cultivate and maintain various types of gardens, including flower beds, vegetable patches, and ornamental landscapes.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for planting, pruning, and general garden maintenance.
- Implement irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and landscapes.
- Monitor plant health, identifying any diseases or pests and taking appropriate action to protect the garden.
- Assist in the growing of plants from seeds or cuttings, ensuring optimal conditions for growth.
- Conduct regular grounds keeping tasks such as mowing lawns, edging pathways, and clearing debris.
- Collaborate with other team members to design and implement landscape improvements as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in gardening or landscape maintenance is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of plant species, soil types, and gardening techniques is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Strong attention to detail with an eye for aesthetics in garden design and maintenance.
- Good physical fitness is required as the role involves manual labour and lifting of materials.
